Whitney Veigas was hired to design and implement an interior, exterior, and donor recognition signage program for Just A Start’s new headquarters at Rindge Commons. The building comprises six stories and is a host of different spaces, including affordable apartments, offices, and several service programs, such as youth education and career training for adults.

Because Just A Start has multiple areas of focus—“building homes, careers, and futures”—our design team was tasked with the challenge of developing a sign program that would be functional, friendly, and professional, all while promoting the company’s identity. 

Our solution incorporated the client’s broad range of brand colors and their multi-faceted logo to foster a strong sense of community and place. The result was a series of color-coded zones that still felt unified. Additionally, the building’s exterior provided several specialty-branding opportunities, ranging from dimensional letter sets to directional monuments, all of which contributed to a vibrant and holistic brand expression throughout the site.
