Scope Design

The Northside Achievement Zone comprises a network of nonprofit organizations and schools and works to advance racial equity and end multigenerational poverty, specifically in North Minneapolis. Visual Communications was asked to design a signage system and several experiential graphics for their new office space.

Our solution includes vibrant graphic elements that feature local students, representing the positive function and spirit that NAZ brings to the area. We designed the conference room identification signs with a visual twist, depicting influential figures from the past and present to characterize the revolutionary kind of work happening in these architectural spaces.

In addition to our designs, the Circle Room graphic features artwork by Leslie Barlow. As part of the Emerging Artist Mentorship Project with NAZ, she created 100 quilted paintings in collaboration with Cameron Downey, Hawwa Youngmark, Maiya Lea Hartman, and Odis Turner.
