Brandeis Mandel Center for the Humanities

Whitney Veigas was selected by the university to design, fabricate, and install signs for this stunning new building, housing classrooms and faculty offices. Extensive amounts of glass and two outdoor terraces line the long, south facing façade. The brick north facing façade forms the fourth side of a quad, with three 1960’s era buildings.

Our solution
Whitney Veigas utilized a standard interior plaque system that is used throughout the campus, but gave it an upscale appearance by using a dark grey metallic paint and a frosted glass extended back plate. Additional graphic elements within the building included satin aluminum individual letters. The satin stainless exterior building identification letters involved a custom mounting to accommodate the sloping shingled slate façade.
